Findlay, Kingston, By Forfar. A 12-bore top lever hammer gun. Circa 1894 NVN
The 30" replacement steel barrels with 2½" chambers are choked ¼ and ½. An excellent quality walnut stock, finished to 143/8" with beautiful rose and scroll engraving.
Weight 6 lb 6 oz.
This
gun was commissioned by a local gunsmith, the records show
that he was trading at Kingston, Forfar from 1891 - 1895,
however we believe that the gun was made by a top quality
maker for Findlay. The lock work, engraving and wood bear
the hallmarks of a best gun. Replacement sleeved barrels have
just been fitted in our workshop. |

Collath & Son, Frankfurt. Circa 1910. Serial no. 20841
A fine and rare premier quality 16 bore, the 29" steel
barrels with 2¾ chambers are choked full and full,
the barrels being engraved with the stamp "Wittener Excelsior".
The highly figured Monte Carlo stock has a length of 14¼",
with engraved pistol grip oval.
The
lockwork, trigger plate and top strap are highly engraved
in high relief with leaves, forest scene with black game,
hunting dogs and roe deer. The slide action opening is operated
by the full horn fore-end lever, the sight through turn safety
catch being fitted on the top strap. Sling swivels are
fitted as standard to stock and barrel rib. A beautiful gun,
W. Colleth and Son being listed as makers to the Kaiser. |

no. 3662
The original 12 bore steel barrels with 2½ chambers
are choked improved cylinder and full. A nicely shaped Prince
of Wales, semi-pistol grip stock with oil finish, to a length
of 143/8".
Weight 6 lb 2 0z.
The
barrels have been refinished in our workshop. |
